Hello, and welcome!

My name is Cara Rochford. Thanks for stopping by! If you're here, it's because you're hoping to learn a little bit about who I am, and I'm happy to oblige.

So, who am I?

It feels like such a cliche to tell you all about my awesome family (it is!), how the birth of my first-born child propelled me headfirst into wanting to  better create and capture every single fantastic moment of his, and his younger brother's lives (it did!), and how I've been living, breathing, sleeping, and often dreaming photography in the 5 years since (I have!!), so we'll just assume all that, and move straight on to the good stuff.

I'm a bit of a granny sometimes - I knit and crochet, and even occasionally sew (although I'm not that great at it) and I scrapbook, and I love to can my own food. I'm also a child of the 80's - I'm a little bit country and a little bit rock n' roll. I love things that are clean and classic, but with a bit of quirk, a pop of unexpected colour, or a surprise twist.  I'm a bit of a perfectionist.  I want to know things, to learn things, and especially to use that desire to be better.  I'm never satisfied with the status quo, with being ok, or good enough.  I want to give you the best I possibly can.

I believe in the power of memories, and the emotions they evoke. A photograph is simply a memory, a piece of our visual family history, captured and placed on paper. These memories are precious and beautiful, they are works of art, and I believe they should be proudly displayed for everyone to see. My biggest thrill comes from helping people create the perfect work of art to be treasured for a lifetime, and be enjoyed and cherished by your children and your children's children.
