Why is little Kinsley smiling? Well, when your very first photo session is as awesome as hers is, how could you help but smile?!

Kinsley is one of my Belly to Birthday babies, which means that I'll have the pleasure of getting to see her at 4 very distinctly different stages of her first year of life - as a gorgeous bump at her mama's maternity session, as a sweet and tiny little newborn during the first few weeks of her life, at around 6 months old when she's met that amazing milestone of being able to sit up on her own, and then finally to celebrate her First Birthday!

I love so many images from the maternity and newborn sessions and I wanted to share a few of my favorites.

I first met Kiysa and her family on a beautiful warm evening in late June. We are so fortunate here in the Calgary, Alberta area to be surrounded by such an abundance of beautifully scenic locations for photo sessions, and I especially love this one for it's rolling hills and view of the Rocky Mountains that so perfectly demonstrates the beauty of Southern Alberta.

We had a bit of a wait for Kinsley to decide it was time to make her debut and arrive into the world, but without a doubt, she was worth the wait, and when we all met up again in August at my High River, Alberta studio she absolutely rocked her newborn session and just about killed me with her cuteness.

The next time I see Kinsley, she'll be sitting up on her own and interacting with the world around her in a whole new way, and I'm looking forward to seeing that cute little smile again.

It's such a privilege to be given the opportunity to watch my adorable tiny clients as they grow and learn about the world around them, and be able to capture those special moments, not only for their families, but for them to be able to look back on one day themselves.
